The wwf magazine shows that A huge part of our economy and day-to-day lives still rely on seaborne trade, from trade, to fishing, leisure and tourism. Unique and wonderful creatures depend on our regional seas, including dugongs, dolphins, sea turtles, and different species of shark and whales. Yet the way we treat our seas is taking a heavy toll, with development and unsustainable business practices that damaging species and habitats. One thing governments can do is nudge sectors that might be dragging their feet. Passing legislation around waste disposal can have enormous impact. Governments can also help by streamlining and standardizing recycling rules.
